Many people wondered why Brazil and Real Madrid left-back Marcelo was left off of Brazil's roster for the upcoming Copa America. Well now Marcelo's absence seems much more reasonable. Marcelo accidentally sent out an email to the Brazilian national team head coach Mano Menezes explaining why he did not play in a friendly against Scotland in March. The email was intended to be sent to a friend because Marcelo reveals in the email that he lied about a fake injury to get out of Brazil’s friendly against Scotland back in late March.
Mano Menezes exaplins,
"I have my defects, but I'm not unfair or stupid,” Menezes said. “It would be irresponsible from me not to call up a player ever again because, accidentally, he committed a red-card offense.”
Let's hope Marcelo is a little more careful next time.
